Optimistic Forecast for San Diego at the Real Estate Mastery Event!
The future is bright for San Diego and its real estate market! Craig Sewing, the host of The Real Estate Mastery Event, brought together top producers to the San Diego Convention Center on October 14th, 2014, for this exciting event, now in its third year. The overall message was one of positive growth and the event gave some incredible encouragement and insight into the forecast for the upcoming year.
About 2,000 top real estate agents attended the event, including our own Linda Daniels! The Real Estate Mastery Event featured three real estate panels as well as presentations from Alan Nevin, director of economic and market research for Xpera Group; Sam Khorramian, founder of Big Block Realty; Ron Quintero, CEO and president of the Real Estate Radio Network; and Tom Ferry, recognized as the No.1 real estate educator.
“This event empowered and educated local real estate agents about the 2015 marketplace, and showed them how to leverage that knowledge to succeed,” said Sewing. The expert panel discussed property values, interest rates, inventory levels and gave advice on how to use social media and the Internet to grow their business.
Alan Nevin said that San Diego is in the top 20 states in the U.S. in terms of job gains. San Diego will gain 30,000 well-paying jobs this year – as it did last year and the year before, Nevin also said. The unemployment rate is below 6 percent, which doesn’t include the 120,000 people in the military who are 100 percent employed. “Our unemployment rate is very, very low – one of the lowest in the nation,” according to Nevin.
A good number of the new jobs in San Diego are well-paying ones, which means people will be able to afford to buy homes. Nevin stressed that there is no shift away from homeownership and that a couple will typically purchase a home when they have their first child. This is what drives the market throughout California.
Ron Quintero said that the real estate market is about to change. Property values in San Diego have been increasing since 2012, which means it is in the third year of a five-year cycle. The traditional market will change with rising interest rates, and Quintero stressed that real estate agents should be proactive and align themselves with what the future market may look like.
The biggest takeaway from the Real Estate Mastery Event was that 2015 is going to be a great year for real estate and San Diego in general. Having confidence in the real estate market means that potential buyers will be more likely to get off the fence and purchase a home. Because of the positive growth forecasted, it serves to emphasize why we are privileged to call this wonderful city our home and are the luckiest people on the planet!
