La Jolla Art & Wine Festival – October 10th & 11th
Fall festivals always garner sunny days and warm nights in San Diego. This year, bring the whole family and stop by the seventh annual La Jolla Art & Wine Festival this October 10th and 11th 2105! The festival takes place in the heart of the village on Girard Avenue. The free festival spans between Prospect Street and Torrey Pines Road, and is open to art lovers of all ages. Local artists and vendors come together to celebrate and raise money for local schools, drawing more of a crowd to the festival each year.
History of La Jolla Art & Wine Festival
This festival was originally created by the local fundraising group Friends of La Jolla Elementary to help raise money for underfunded school programs. Since it’s premiere in 2009, the Art & Wine Festival has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for art, science, technology, and physical education programs for La Jolla schools. You can view art submitted for the contest from over 150 local artists from throughout the Southern California region, and enjoy beer and wine from San Diego’s best breweries and wineries.
This Year’s Attractions
Incredible art from local talent isn’t the only thing you’ll find at the Art & Wine Festival; Attendees can participate in a silent auction, and visit the marketplace to shop for goodies from local vendors. With an abundance of entertainment throughout the festival area, there’s plenty to catch your eye. Take the kids over to the family art center, and create a masterpiece together, or relax in the beer garden. With so much to see and do at the festival, there’s something for everyone.
The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival takes place on Saturday October 10th from 10:00am to 7:00pm, and Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Girard Avenue will be closed from Prospect Street to Torrey Pines Road.
